1) Inuyasha: Despite the fact that I know the story and the pace of the new episodes is a little fast, I'm still enjoying it a lot. There's no filler but most of the story right now is action oriented anyway, and really after all this time what angst has not been milked for all it's worth? Basically if the show can stick the landing I'm good.

2) How I Met Your Mother:

I think I'm calling it now; the insulting way they broke up Barney and Robin is the moment the show jumped the shark.

I don't really do sitcoms. I watch them sometimes when they are on, but the really episodic nature of them and the fact that they hit the reset button by the end of the show is not a story format I prefer. (I think my preferred medium is the serial with definite ending, the way the asians do it. Long enough for a meaty story but with no fear of RL events influencing the story as in Grey's where you know they are obviously writing around the actors). But I made an exception for HIMYM because it was telling a story with a clear arc.

The show spent two seasons having Barney pinning after Robin and then GETTING THE GIRL. And then it's like they suddenly felt like having Barney whoring around was more fun, the hell with any character arc or story arc. It's not even that I didn't expect the writers to have them stay together permantly; I make allowances that TV writers often break up couples for the DRAMA of it all.

But this!? No organic build up of their problems, no logical reason why "they are too awesome to be together". WHAT THE HELL. It was a cringe worthy episode and made the last two seasons seem SO POINTLESS.

The show and writers used to be so much better than this. So thanks for freeing up my Monday night, show! You are no longer Must-See for me!

3) Anyone who spoils me for Doctor Who: Waters of Mars will burn. I mean this. There are so few things I go in spoiler free, but Doctor Who is one of them. At least until Tennant leaves.
