Korra 1x07

Impressions:

- less fond of this episode than the previous one, though it's a much better episode than others have been this season.

- Both Asami and Korra are too good for Mako; I'm not sure if I'm still supposed to like him at this point? But he's a crappy boyfriend AND a crappy friend, and I am over him.

- LIN BEI FONG. I may love Korra best, but Lin is a close close second. Note she was the only one that was at all effective at taking out those giant mechas. When she did Toph vision, I was so so happy.

- I'm still not overly fond of Asami; I don't dislike her, but I don't feel much for her either. Though I do think they are going with the innocent-didn't-know about her dad trope over the spy!Asami theory. If they continue to give her more development outside of perfect girlfriend like they did today, she may grow on me.

- Lin and Tenzin need to stop being near flawless in their teamwork because it's giving me Tenzin/Lin feels and I don't want them because 1) they'll never actually get together on the show and 2) I'm still side eying Tenzin over apparently breaking Lin's heart

- As a successor to the Gaang, I think Korra/Mako/Bolin are weaksauce. Most times I feel like Korra is so alone; she fights without them, does her Avatar stuff without them etc. Watching this episode, the real new Gaang is actually Korra/Tenzin/Lin. Beyond acting like actual friends to her, the boys had better step up their bending if they are going to participate in any of the fighting this season
